Our Story

Fifteen years ago, our family moved to Walla Walla, bringing with us the rich flavors and traditions of Ethiopian cuisine. Food has always been at the heart of our home—a way to connect, celebrate, and share our culture with others.

As a mother and daughter, we decided to turn our passion for cooking into something bigger: a small food business dedicated to bringing authentic Ethiopian dishes to our community. Using fresh, high-quality ingredients and time-honored recipes, we create meals that are both nourishing and full of tradition.

By day, I am a dedicated nurse, caring for our community in a different way. But in the kitchen, I work side by side with my mother, blending generations of tradition with a deep love for cooking. Our goal is simple: to share the comforting and authentic flavors of Ethiopian food, made with heart and heritage with our community.

About Ethiopian food

Ethiopian food is a vibrant and communal dining experience, known for its rich flavors, aromatic spices, and unique textures. At the heart of Ethiopian cuisine is injera, a soft, spongy sourdough flatbread made from teff, which serves as both a utensil and a staple. It’s traditionally paired with a variety of slow-cooked stews (wats), lentils, sautéed greens, and flavorful meats, all seasoned with spices like berbere and mitmita.

Ethiopian meals are meant to be shared, often enjoyed from a large platter where friends and family eat together using their hands—creating a warm and communal experience. With plenty of vegan and vegetarian options, Ethiopian food offers something delicious for everyone!
